The agreement between us
Terms and conditions
These terms cover the CrateOrganizer software and this website. Downloading, installing or using the software means you accept them.
Last updated 19 August 2026
1. The software
CrateOrganizer is a Windows application that mirrors your music folders into Serato crates and, with a Pro licence, cleans up duplicates, missing entries and playlists. It is supplied to you under a licence. It is not sold to you, and ownership of the software stays with us.
2. The free licence
The syncing features are free to use, for personal or commercial DJ work, on as many of your own computers as you like, for as long as you like. We will not later withdraw the free features from a copy you already have.
3. The Pro licence
- A Pro licence is a one-time payment. It does not expire, and nothing renews.
- One licence may be active on two computers at a time. Deactivate one to move it to another.
- The licence is personal to you. Do not share, resell, publish or sub-licence your key.
- The app checks in with our licence server occasionally to confirm the licence is still valid. It keeps working for an extended period without a connection, and a network failure will never downgrade it.
4. Payment and refunds
Payment is taken by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars unless stated otherwise, and you are responsible for any taxes that apply where you live.
The free version exists so that you can test the software against your own library before paying anything. If Pro is not what you expected, contact us and we will look at it in good faith. Nothing in these terms removes any statutory refund or cancellation right you have under the consumer law where you live.
5. What you may not do
- Copy, modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software, except where the law expressly allows it.
- Remove or alter any notice of ownership.
- Work around, disable or interfere with the licensing checks.
- Use the software to infringe anyone else copyright, or to distribute music you do not have the right to distribute.
6. Your library is your responsibility
The software writes to your Serato library. It previews every change first and backs your crates up before every write, but you remain responsible for keeping your own independent backup of your music and your _Serato_ folder. Please read the disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
7. No warranty
The software is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free, or that it will remain compatible with future versions of Serato or Windows.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost or damaged music, crates, playlists or libraries, nor for lost gigs, lost income, lost time, or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you actually paid us for a Pro licence in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending the licence
You may stop using the software at any time; uninstalling it ends the licence. We may end a Pro licence if it is shared, resold, or used to work around the licensing, and we will tell you why.
10. Not affiliated with Serato
CrateOrganizer is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or supported by Serato Audio Research. Trademarks belong to their respective owners.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page, with the date at the top, is the one that applies. Continuing to use the software after a change means you accept it.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction. This does not remove any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
13. Contact
